  • Kourtney came to Punta Mita to celebrate her birthday, accompanied by Kim; Anette Michel was also in the Riviera Nayarit around the same time and went to visit Chef Betty Vázquez in San Blas.

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are back to vacation in the Riviera Nayarit this week, this time to celebrate Kourtney’s 38th birthday. Once again they stayed at Casa Aramara, the luxurious property owned by their friend Joe Francis.

Everything’s Ready For The 2nd Annual Cuisine Of The Sun!

  • This culinary festival takes place over four days, brigning together celebrity chefs from U.S. TV networks along with personalities from Mexico and other latitudes; it will feature cooking classes, dinners under the stars, talk shows and much more. 

The Villa La Estancia hotel offered an on-site press conference on Monday, March 24, where they presented details on their signature event together with the celebrity chefs that will be headlining the second annual Cuisine of the Sun.

This gastronomic festival will take place April 26 – 29, 2017, under the guidance of famous Food Network chef and USFOODS culinary specialist, Penny Davidi.

3rd Annual Riviera Nayarit Children’s Fishing Tournament

New Convention Centers Position Riviera Nayarit As One Of Mexico’s Top Meetings Destinations


Two new major convention centers join over a dozen luxury hotels with large, full service meeting facilities and spectacular indoor and outdoor event spaces

Riviera Nayarit, Mexico – April 12, 2017 – Meeting, incentive, convention and wedding travel to Riviera Nayarit is growing rapidly each year.  Known for its high caliber resorts, beaches, restaurants, spas and sports facilities, Riviera Nayarit is proud to announce the opening of two new state-of-the-art convention centers.  The Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta Convention Center will open in April 2017 and the Bel Air Unique Resort & Convention Center Vallarta in Flamingos is scheduled to open in June 2017. 

Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta Convention Center will offer one large meeting space that can be divided into four rooms totaling 32,378 square feet with capacity for up to 2,400 people. Additional spaces next to the convention center includes a foyer with 14,320 square feet of space and four smaller meeting rooms that together provide an extra 3,818 square feet. The Vidanta Ballroom will offer 5,425 square feet of space that can also be converted into two separate areas. Three additional rooms next to the ballroom will allow for an added space of 2,228 square feet. Its Grand Mayan Playa also has a meeting room with 1,130 square feet of space available. Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta also provides five resort hotels with over 2,200 guest rooms; two golf courses, one designed by Jack Nicklaus and the other by Greg Norman; 20 world class restaurants and 18 bars/lounges; 27 pools, one mile beach and Aqua Park with a Lazy River; luxury spas and boutiques.  Nightlife options will expand with the inauguration of Cirque du Soleil at the resort in 2018.

Bel Air Unique, in the nearby Flamingos area, is inaugurating the Bel Air Convention Center in June 2017 which will host up to 3,600 people simultaneously in its 33,906 square feet of indoor and outdoor convention spaces, making it the largest in Riviera Nayarit. The Grand Salon Bucerias will be the largest ballroom with over 15,000 square feet, accommodating up to 1,600 people.  This ballroom can also be divided into up to six smaller rooms.  The Convention Center will also have a foyer with over 8,000 square feet of space for up to 860 people.  The two outdoor spaces are the Las Tortugas Garden with over 8,000 square feet of space for up to 860 guests and Playa de Chacala with 2,690 square feet of space for 280 attendees.  All spaces can be arranged in auditorium, classroom, banquet or reception formats. Bel Air Unique has also completed an extensive renovation and expansion of the resort, increasing the number of rooms from 215 to 419, adding five pools and expanding the number of restaurants from two to six. 

Other important meeting and event spaces in Riviera Nayarit include:

  • Hard Rock Hotel in Nuevo Vallarta inaugurated its Sanctuary Convention Center in 2015. This multi-function space offers 12,900 square feet of space, which combines with the Nayarit ballroom (6,317 square feet) and other meeting facilities in the hotel to offer 20,000 square feet of meetings and event facilities as well as spectacular outdoor areas including an open air auditorium beside the sea. The resort also provides six restaurants and its luxurious Rock Spa.

  • Marival Resort in Nuevo Vallarta offers 12,303 square feet of meeting space including a 7,589 square foot ballroom, 2,852 square foot foyer and 1,862 square foot patio. This five star all-inclusive resort has 497 luxurious rooms and suites with a private balcony or terrace. It also offers 11 restaurants and bars as well as a superb World Spa with international treatments for its guests.

  • Punta Mita, the most exclusive resort development in Mexico, has two five diamond hotels, the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort that provide over 10,964 square feet of meeting space. The two Punta Mita golf courses, Bahia and Pacific, were both designed by Jack Nicklaus. Spa facilities, fine dining and sunset cruises make a meeting, incentive or wedding experience even more luxurious.;

  • Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is renowned for its five diamond facilities and service as well as its two four diamond restaurants, 267 one to three bedroom suites and luxurious 16,500 square foot spa. It offers three meeting rooms that total 9,418 square feet of conference space.

  • Paradise Village Beach Resort and Spa offers an ideal combination of top accommodations, excellent event space and access to recreational activities to augment a meeting or incentive. The Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 1,100 guests or be divided into up to three smaller sections. The Riviera Nayarit Prepares To Celebrate Greeting Mother Earth Ceremony

  • This Earth Day event seeks to create a heightened awareness of the importance our individual actions have on the environment.

This year Earth Day falls on Saturday, April 22nd and the Riviera Nayarit is preparing to celebrate the occasion with a Greeting Mother Earth Ceremony. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. in Nuevo Vallarta at the Beach Club owned by the Bahía de Banderas Trust (Fibba, by its acronym in Spanish).

The activity is an interactive contemplation of our relationship with the planet and the importance of caring for it as part of our own personal journey of wellbeing. Access is free for the general public and attendees are recommended to wear comfortable clothing.

The Riviera Nayarit Nominated To Travel Age West 2017 Wave Awards

The nominations for the 2017 Travel Age West Wave Awards have been announced and the Riviera Nayarit, its hotels and hotel chains have been included in several categories, demonstrating once again that Mexico’s Pacific Treasure has all the right ingredients to become the best tourism destination in the country.

Each category includes five candidates, which means sometimes there is more than one representative of a single destination on the same list. Voting is exclusively done by travel agents and ends on April 30, 2017; the awards ceremony will be held on June 15, 2017.

Joint Promotional Campaign Makes A Stop In Texas

  • Updated information on the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta was shared via a varied combination of activities that reached out to both travel agents and end consumers in Dallas and Houston.

The Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit Joint Promotional Campaign visited the great state of Texas in order to continue positioning both destinations on Texans’ travel radars.

 “Texas is the third state of origin in numbers of tourists to the Riviera Nayarit from the United States, which is why we decided to focus our efforts a bit more on the end consumer, since they already know the destination,” said Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We sought to persuade them to come see us in a more direct manner without, of course, forgoing visits to the most important travel agencies in the region.”

  • Holy Week heated up in Mexico’s Pacific Treasure; Rihanna caused a stir on social media with her teeny bikinis in Punta Mita and Maluma offered a concert in Nuevo Vallarta.

The Riviera Nayarit continues to position itself as a luxury and nature destination much sought-after by celebrities. This Holy Week was no exception, when singer, actress and fashion designer Rihanna’s visit was the hottest topic in town.

Spring Bazaar To Open At Marina Nuevo Vallarta

La Patrona Polo Club Extends An Invitation To The 2017 Jaguar Cup

  • Now in its 14th year, the National/International Mexico Architecture Biennial awarded La Patrona the Silver Medal in the “Sports Project” category.

High Season Continues With May Events In The Riviera Nayarit

  • The Patron Saint Feast of the Holy Cross, the International Altruism Festival, Restaurant Week, the Wind Festival, and the Jarretaderas Shore Fishing Tournament are among the events expected to attract thousands of visitors.

The AHMBB Continues Training Hotel Personnel

  • 35 lifeguards took a refresher course held by the State Civil Protection agency; 22 personnel belonging to the Safety, Human Resources and Rooms divisions began an eight-month certification offered by ITESO.

A group of lifeguards completed their refresher workshop before Holy Week and began the Decision Maker Certification as part of the training courses offered by the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB by its acronym in Spanish).

Riviera Nayarit Highlighted New Markets During Tianguis Turístico 2017

  • The main objective is to diversify within the European and South American markets, to bring them in and consolidate them, while not losing sight of the destination’s natural markets.

The 42nd edition of the Tianguis Turístico in Acapulco, which took place from March 27-30, 2017, was an excellent stage for the celebration of the Riviera Nayarit’s first ten years as a tourism brand and the state of Nayarit’s 100 years of independence. In the promotional arena, the destination continues looking to diversify its markets and consolidate new opportunities.

“These past few days we’ve considered co-ops and campaigns for 2017, both on a domestic level as the Riviera Nayarit and on an international level along with Puerto Vallarta,” said Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). “We’re seeking prospects mainly in Europe and Latin America. Basically we’d like to consolidate new markets in order to continue growing and alternating the influx of tourists so we can shorten what we call our low season.”

There were over 15 business meetings held between different Tour Operators (TO) and representatives from the Mexico Tourism Board (MTB) for the regions of the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta.
